    Brooklyn property sales
Watch Tower headquarters in Columbia Heights, Brooklyn.

In 2004 the society began transferring its printing operations to its Wallkill factory complex. [83] [84] The move triggered the sale of a number of Brooklyn factory and residential properties including:

    • 360 Furman St, sold in 2004 for $205 million; [85]
    • 67 Livingston St, (nicknamed the Sliver) [86] sold in 2006 for $18.6 million. [85]
    • 89 Hicks St, sold in 2006 for $14 million. [85]
    • Standish Arms Hotel, 169 Columbia Heights, sold in 2007 for $50 million. [87]
    • 183 Columbia Heights, bought in 1986 and offered for sale in 2007, under contract in March 2012, sold in April 2012 for $6.6 million. [84] [88] [89]
    • 161 Columbia Heights, bought in 1988 and offered for sale in 2007, sold in March 2012 for $3 million. [84] [88]
    • 165 Columbia Heights, offered for sale in 2007, sold January 2012 for $4.1 million. [84] [90]

    • 34 Orange St, offered for sale in 2007. [84]
    • Bossert Hotel, 98 Montague St, for sale since 2008. [73] Media reports in 2008 claimed a deal had been struck for more than $100 million, [92] although the deal later fell through. [76] As of May 2012, discussion was under way for the property to be rezoned for a hotel developer who bought it for an undisclosed amount, estimated at $90 million. [93] [94]
    • 50 Orange St, bought in 1988, renovated to sell 2006, and sold December 2011 for $7.1 million. [95]
    • 67 Remsen St, sold in 2012 for $3.25 million. [96]
    • 173 Front St, up for sale in 2012.
    • 177 Front St, up for sale in 2012.
    • 200 Water St, up for sale in 2012.

In 2011 the Watch Tower Society was reported to still own 34 properties in Brooklyn; [4] [97] a 2009 report calculated "a dozen or more" properties in the Brooklyn area, including two large parking lots with a residential zoning. [73] In a 2010 news report the Watch Tower Society said it was "not actively promoting" the sale of eight Brooklyn properties still on the market. [76] In September 2011, the Watch Tower Society put five more of its Brooklyn properties on the market through a brokerage. [98] [99] Six properties in Brooklyn were sold between December 2011 and May 2012. [100] The Watch Tower Society put another three properties up for sale through a brokerage in June 2012. [101] The Watch Tower Society put 67 Remsen Street up for sale in July 2012. [102] Three of the Watch Tower Society's remaining twenty-four Brooklyn properties are on the market.

i heard from a reliable source that they have garnered over $100 billion in sales, and the money will be spent in building a "city" in New York State.....it seems that Patterson is not the place - this is supposedly somewhere else out there......kinda like a little Vatican for the governing papacy? They say it will be like a little island in the US, but not part of it........I am really wondering about this new city....will it have houses and people? or just big dormitory like structures to house the free slave labor????

And I wonder how the local residents will feel about a huge chunk of property going off the tax rolls?

Looks like a move from those closer to the top to start cashing in on wind fall profits made durring better days while in the "We Are The Almighty's Spokesman" delusion.

Maybe the IRS are already seeing this as a virtual run away cash cow, and are doing a search with thier computers to see where the money is going.

Bought with donated funds, sold without accountability to its members. Does anyone have access to the financial statements for WTB&T$? Surely, as a NFP organization public disclosure is required?

I wonder if those that have control over the finiances are stacking thier own little pile somewhere. They must have to file some type of tax report even if they are non profit.
