"We don't believe only JWs will survive Armageddon, only Jehovah can read hearts" - Logic Fallacies by JWs (or us)?

Blondie, thanks also for the quotes about the baptism as JW = marked for survival at Armageddon. It also explicitly states the inverse as well:

11 We understand that in the fulfillment of this prophecy, the man “clothed in linen” represents the remnant of spirit-anointed Christians. By means of the preaching and disciple-making work, the anointed class puts a symbolic mark on those who become part of Christ’s “other sheep.” (John 10:16) What is the mark? It is the evidence, as if displayed on their uncovered foreheads, that such sheep are dedicated, baptized disciples of Jesus Christ and that they have put on the Christlike new personality. (Eph. 4:20-24) These sheeplike ones become one flock with anointed Christians and assist them in their vital work of marking still others.—Rev. 22:17.

12 Ezekiel’s vision highlights one reason why our ongoing search for people who are “sighing and groaning” is so urgent. It involves lives. Soon, Jehovah’s heavenly executional forces, represented by the six men with weapons, will destroy those who do not have the symbolic mark. Concerning that coming judgment, the apostle Paul wrote that the Lord Jesus, accompanied by “his powerful angels,” will bring “vengeance upon those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news about our Lord Jesus.” (2 Thess. 1:7, 8) Notice that people will be judged on the basis of their response to the good news. Hence, the proclamation of God’s message must continue unabated right to the end. (Rev. 14:6, 7) This places a heavy responsibility on all of Jehovah’s dedicated servants.—Read Ezekiel 3:17-19. 1

Again such wording leaves no room for people that aren't responding to the good news, aren't getting baptised (context shows baptism as a JW is what they really mean, not just baptized in some other religon), and aren't putting on the Christlike new personality to be saved when the end comes. Even if some other Watchtower article says something to the contray (and so far, I don't think they have, just the JWs themselves making these appeals), then we simply have a contradiction, and would not the law of contradiction apply as follows?:

A proposition cannot be both true and false or that a thing cannot both have and not have a given property.2

When considering statements like this, consider whether it is in the Public Witchtower, the Asleep! or n one of the books designed to be studied by potential recruits.

Often the off - putting information is dished out after the recruits thinking abilities have been imapired or reprogrammed to accept whatever crapola the cult tells them to swallow.

"Elephant.. the point is that most JWs (and remember I am still an active JW like you) believe that God is the only one who can reads hearts and decides who survives or not... but this is NOT what is taught in the Watchtower publications. According to them one HAS to be associated with God's Organisation to survive"

...tornapart...the publications teach many things...who the 144000 are, 1914, sacred secret, etc etc...

...they teach it because they CAN...spiritual things are just that, spiritual...here we are, you and I, of the same religion...and can interpret these teachings differently...why? because its not arithmetic, where the answer is only ONE...

...guess what?...the same 'concept' is taught in all other religions...do this or do that and be saved, otherwise...

...what religion will you chose?...its completely your own decision...

I'm not sure you can call it teaching if it is an interpretation. I note more and more the WTS provides an interpretation without much backing. How else can you evaluate one interpretation over another?

For instance, what backing does the WTS use for it's stand that the Holy Spirit no longer acts as it did in the first century (healing, flames, miracles)?

"For instance, what backing does the WTS use for it's stand that the Holy Spirit no longer acts as it did in the first century (healing, flames, miracles)?"

...jgnat...there isn't, no matter how hard one tries to find such backing...you will never find it...i'm finding that many here have lost sight of this little but hugely important fact...again, it's a religion that teaches spiritual concepts...it's not mathematical science with absolutes...

...even Jesus with ALL the proof he presented (if you happen to believe that the Bible is truth and factual)...was doubted...

...it is what allows ANY religion to change its doctrines or 'set in stone' teachings over and over and over...its up to you to keep up and accept...IF you want to...

The WTS still teaches absolutes. God as the great timekeeper and all that.

"The WTS still teaches absolutes. God as the great timekeeper and all that."

...wrong...you are proof of this...you don't concur with this statement... therefore it is not absolute...its merely an interpretation...

...remember Paul (again, the Bible)...he was convinced of one thing...and based on the SAME teachings he converted... he interpreted the same concept in two very different ways...

Well, the WTS would teach that I absolutely don't deserve paradise.

From "What Does the Bible Really Teach" 2005

The Bible is scientifically accurate. chap 2, p. 18, pp 8

The Bible is also historically accurate and reliable. Its accounts are specific. chap 2, p 18, pp 9

Although some people say that certain parts of the Bible contradict other parts of it, such claims are unfounded. chap 2, p 18, footnote

Eternity on earth under the WTS authority would not be a paradise, jgnat. We both deserve more than that.
