  Welcome;

  Search through some of the Doctrinal posts and "test the inspired expressions", or as you appropriately described them, "a herd of elephants in the room".

  Particularly look for posts dealing with Covenants, Anointed, Other Sheep, Memorial, New Scrolls, & Sons of God.

  These are just some of the 'elephants' we can never write to the Org about, let alone discuss with our brothers!!

  Just keep in mind 2 Thess. 2:4, 1 Peter 4:17, & Rev. chapters 2 & 3. These Scriptures explain exactly what's happening, and what the outcome will be.

  at the basis for it.

  The whole thing rests on the 1918-1919 teaching, that Jesus

  picked them.

  He returned and liked all the FOOD that they were teaching...

  Oooooh. BG = Babylon the Great. Oh, honey. We aren't all bad. One of my pet peeves is how the WTS lumps all of Christendom in one big mass and then blames the whole mess on the lot. The Catholic church is certainly old, big, corrupt, and arrogant. I have found individual Catholics to be charming. There are other denominations that have a passing doctrinal resemblance to the Witnesses. There are churches that uphold morality. Others run hospitals and soup kitchens.

  Welcome! Witnessing others bumping up against the "elephants" is one of the things that got me started thinking.

  Welcome, thanks for posting. Yes it's hard to post at first. The WBTS does a very good job at making JWs afraid to express independent thought and/or have any contact with "apostates".

  While the WBTS has somewhat painted itself in a corner over the "generation" teaching, the will no doubt come up with "new light" to explain it all away. It will not pacify all, but the majority will buy it, I'm sure.

  I was around when they were saying that '75 was the year. They were carefull not to explicitely state it in the liturature, but they got the word out that '75 was it. Then they said we all "read to much into it". Genius! They made us feel guilty for their failed prediction.

  This is why they are so afraid of the Internet and the
  freedom that gives to express doubts and do independent
  research. Think about it, if they really were "the truth", why are they so afraid? The Bible says to "keep testing whether these things are so". But the WBTS only wants you to get information from them.

  You've come to the right place to vent. I also lurked a little over 2 yrs before joining. It looks like you are a thinker and that is an excellent start. My advice is to keep an open mind and research, research, research. If the WTBTS has the truth it should withstand close scrutiny from outside sources. Leslie

  MTWTF- Very well put by you ! I enjoyed your first thread and post. You have a very direct way of getting your point across very clearly. Please know you are among friends who also have severe doubts about the WT society's validity in real life. Take care, nice having you here
