Nice find. Here's an ad for a similar one marked "Guide":

"Super nice Deluxe Traffic Light Viewer! Labeled "Guide" - Bolt type base
with nut, View head is 2 5/8" wide x 2 1/4" high fan size, Arm is 2 1/4"
long with a swivel on the bottom and a ball in the viewer head. NEW
REPRODUCTION - similar to units found in GM cars. A super strong magnetic
base is available so you don't have to drill a hole in your dash. Choose
viewer only, base only or complete set below."

Thanks, Marvin; I never could have come up with that. At least some of us learned something new. It had been driving me insane. Thanks to everyone for wondering with me and the humorous responses. beer goggles....ad infinitum

I'll bet some antique car enthusiast would pay fistfuls of money for it.

Well, your viewer being 60 years old and not a "new" reproduction, if the newer reproduction cost almost fifty bucks, yours must be worth more as an antique.

Bring it to antique car shows, (cruise nights), especially Chevy ones, and see what you can get for offers. Then bring it to antique dealers and compare prices. I wouldn't sell it right now, in case you have something pretty rare there, especially being an original. Do a search on Google, now that you know what it is. Good luck, and I hope you make a million. :)
