So, is anybody here a baseball fan? I can understand why people think it is boring. I love it though. I played it growing up and enjoyed it. That is probably why I like it. Even non-baseball fans enjoy going out to watch a game now and then. I've been a life long fan of the Pittsburgh Pirates. It has been a depressing 20 years but things look to finally be turning around.

I wish I had the means to take a tour of all the stadiums but that would take a lot of planning, money, and time. I've been to several different stadiums. Had plans to make a 5 day trip to see 5 different stadiums last year but the plans fell through.

Follow the Pirates. They are the story of the season.

I am a big baseball fan. It is really the only sport I follow. I subscribe to MLB and follow games daily.

It is the only professional game I follow.

I'm only 23 so losing is all I know from the Pirates. If I hear anybody throw out the term bandwagon fan in my direction, I think I might punch them in the head.

Still waiting for the collapse but they keep on avoiding it.

The Pirates have been really fun to watch this year. I would love to see them go far and continue to be a force in the NL.

I'm a lifelong Red Sox fan, so I revel in angst and suffering. The championships in 2004 and 2007 were amazing...but it looks like we're back to business as usual this year :)

I was happy for the Red Sox finally getting that monkey off their back. It was getting kind of annoying hearing about it every year. (I like the avatar, by the way. Where did the lighter fluid come from?)

A lot of people will point to empty stands to indicate that Pittsburgh isn't a baseball town but c'mon, any fan base would avoid showing up after 19 losing seasons in a row. When the Pirates do anything good the town gets excited. Pittsburgh will always be a football town above all but there are a ton of Pirate fans here. There just hasn't been anything to be excited about. There is definitely a buzz in the town right now.

As we were having this discussion, Pittsburgh won 13 to 2 over the Giants. Great first half.

Got into it when I lived in Maine. Redsox of course. Not cricket but not a bad little game...

According to my hubby the greatest pirate ever was Roberto Clemente.

My youngest son loves baseball. His dream is to go to Pacbell Park and watch the SF Giants play.

Hey MrFreeze - I'm one the many folks that have been going to baseball parks since childhood, but have never attended an actual game. I'm sure ya know what I mean.

I believe that's also one of the "You might be JW if" jokes.
