I'll post pics later. I really enjoyed the jungle part of the excursion. Funny was half way up the river, our boat lost an engine and we limped along until another boat came back and got us. No one seemed to enjoy my humour about the natives watching so they could eat us.

There are still tribes that have not been contacted in those jungles.

There are also still headhunters in the amazon. It is still, to this day, a very large, dangerous place.

I love Belize! Plan on retiring there! I would recommend the beach town of Placencia to visit. Nice beaches, best food I've ever had in my life and the people are just awesome!! Don't go to Belize City, not a nice place!

Served in Belize in the mid 70,s over A year. We lived in

Cayo, near the Guatemala border. If you enjoy diving, you

will enjoy the translucent seas. Visibility is unbelievable. diving

in the coral reefs. If you enjoy ruins there are A few. My favorite,

Xunantunich, near the Cayo district. I agree, stay out of Belize city.

All the women in Belize live in run down, poorly kept up trailers.

Shirley, I will not try to find women in Belize. I just want to enjoy sightseeing. If I meet someone there, maybe I might be distracted. P.S. I will not pay any prostitutes.

English is the national language of Belize.

But I'm not sure if the lizards and bugs and snakes speak it fluently, though.
