Then why does he practice it?

Didnt he give Moses magical powers to prove to Pharaoh that he was sent by JeHOOOVah?

So maybe Sparlock is Jehovah's emissary.

Yeah well . . . apparently the big guy hates murder too . . .

Sparlock would make a very good archangel . . . just needs a gob-mounted sword and a white horse.

Jehovah wants a monopoly on magic. That way, he can use it against people so they will be miserable, stagnant, sick, suffering, and enslaved and they won't be able to do a damn thing about it.

I can only hope the day when Jehovah and every single one of his filthy angels are bound tight. That day can't come soon enough.

I have been wondering what is the difference between a miracle and magic. It seems it is a miracle if your god does it, and magic if someone elses god does it. I wonder why the Governing Body is unable to perform either miracles or magic, since both were practiced in the Bible.

Well, no he didn't really. The Jews were never really in Egypt, and the 'Moses' character is a literary construct.

But aside from that, yes, the Bible is full of stories about magic. From folklore about Moses to jars magically filling with flour to Samson's magic hair to Jesus' parlour tricks, etc, etc....

jehovah or rather does not hate magic, astrology, numerology or any other practices we think he hates. magic is and always has been a show to impress. people have always like this theatre. we must understand tge ot is simoly the story of the priests of one church cvompeting against other establishments. they want the business of their jewish brothers. lie all churches they wanted free fodd whuch they pretended to devote to jehovah bjt not until they took a nice chunk. they also demamded golkd and money for the tempke. naturally other religions stole tgeir busdiness. all diatribes are simply hatred towards those holy temples and priests and priestesses. th high priest himsrlf did divination the torah talks about the two holy rocks urim and thuranim (sp). the apostles cast lots to pick the replacement ir judas o#fter he hanged himself. there is nmo cvontraduction, if u undrrstand this basuc fact.

the only thing that is wrong is giving business to other gods. remember the ten commndments, you must mot have other gods before jehivah. thts right you must spend your money first at jehovahs temple. he doesnt want tyo be secind in line.

Daniel, the prophet, was employed for many years in Babylon as the chief occultist to the king. He was supervisor "of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans and soothsayers". See Daniel 5:11.

That is amazing information Blondie!!! I had no idea about that and is a great thing to know to tell JWs that Jehovah doesn't hate magic. LOL

Of course they will come back and say that that was those days but not now.

Blondie, you've proved that Jehovah does not hate magic, and there are other instances on that link you gave us.

The "in those days but not now" argument just doesn't hold water, does it? Over and over again the WT tells us in its literature that all the Bible is relevant, and we can gain wisdom for today by consulting Bible-based principles.

The Bible-based principles of astrology and divination are plain and clear for all to see!

The major difference between magic and miracles seems to be intent and purpose.
Magic intends to astonish..to focus attention on power itself.Miracles were to address
real needs of people. Jesus resisted the power to use miracles for his own
benefit during his "in the desert test. "It would have been a misuse godly spirit or power
just as the expression goes" guns don't kill people... people kill people"

Here in Canada at least it is forbidden to sale guns to those who are known to misuse them for wrong intent.
