Thinking about it, The seem to live to a ripe old age and nothing happens to them.
Probably because they dont do anything, they dont work, they have low stress lives.
They arent going to get killed at work or die from a heart attack or stroke from stress.
Living in New York they probably dont drive that much or often so their chances of dying from a car
accident are low.
The probably are protected by being dull and insignificant.

They are mega important - to themselves. No self respecting apostate or terrorist would waste their energy on them. They don't need protection they are self-important not genuinely important.
