Is it possible after researching the net on Biblical contradictions and inaccuracies, the Bible's background and reading skeptic and/or objective information that a Christian would still research the Bible and find it 100% divine?

Well......... we discussed the pont I'm going to make in a different thread, but it is simular to what is being discussed here. The WTS has made so many predictions and yet it seems they always still have their fathful followers even after the predictions fail, WHY?! I know when you bring up the 1975 thing to older JW's they deny it every happened, they use excuses that the WTS has issued, and that really pisses me off. Because either they are so stupid, or they are blind to what has happened. But that pertans to JW's that were around during that time period. The younger JW's who were not there, have no other choice but to listen to the WTS, unless they lokk at "Apostate" material, which is usually WT articles, but whenthey are quoted they tell you the they are being taken out of context, BULL SHIT, they are complete in context. But the young ones in the Truff, are told one story by the Borg leaders, and they have to accept it.

One thing I cannot stand is a liar, and when discussing the subject of the WT predictions I am called that a lot. EXCUSE me!!! I do not lie and this is the truth. Sometimes I wonder what they are thinking. Imean come on it is your own literature, in context, go read it for your self (although some has been altered since the originals).

The WTS group is so washed out, I am wondering what is going to happen in the near future, as the article quoted above by Smoldering Wick, they really have painted themselves into a corner, with no easy way out.

Excellent comments here, this realization that the one so committed to the truth find themselves actually committed to a contrived truth[tm] instead must be extremely difficult. Difficult decisions must be made to remain true to oneself. Would not wish this situation on my worst enemy.

It never ceases to amaze me that the images of "apostate literature" as being written with a pen of vomit inevitably turn out to be none other than the word for word watch tower publications, books, magazines or CDrom.

It is possible, but research shows that people are generally better off when their beliefs correspond with facts.

Can a person remain a JW after researching? Yes, most definitely. Can a person remain totally unscathed in their beliefs after researching? Not likely.

It's a difficult concept to embrace when one finds one's beliefs--that have been held possibly for decades--are false. Many JWs who have been in a similar position resort to the "safe" idea (to them, at least) that everything they have seen that is contrary to the WT paradigm is a lie....fabricated.

They can cling to this fantasy for quite some time, but at some point they will encounter something that will click into place, and the light will come on. They may, even at this point, strive to quell their doubts, but eventually they will have to face facts.

At that point, they will either stay as nominal JWs for their own personal reasons, or they will leave.
