The monsters in the thread title are not monsters of the mind or of nighmare, but just the friendly (or otherwise) little alien creatures depicting our forum selves.
It's illogical, but often I find myself feeling that these weird and wonderful creatures take on the personality of the poster. Phizzy's seems to me to be perfect for someone Phizzy. Cantleave's suits him very well. Our new friend Socrateswannabe seems to have been given the perfect creature for someone who describes himself as a reticent soul, while Witness My Fury has acquired hair positively bristling with rage! And I rather like my own.
Does anyone else feel the same about our alien aliases?
