I was present at an unsuccessful attempt. A dissident took to the platform just as the meeting was about to start and loudly announced that the faithful and discreet slave were false prophets and that jesus needed to be given back his proper place. Attendents forcibly removed him and the police were called. they took him away but he was released as the congregation did not want to press charges.

recently I heard that he is back in the truth and doing very well. His dissident act was put down to mental illness

The closest that I actually saw was when the HLC sent a speaker to our KH to explain the new fractions doctrine, an Elder put his hand up and asked :

"So, based on Acts 15, is it O.K now to have a little bit, a fraction, of Fornication ?" Good question I thought, he just got rubbished by others later for having the temerity to ask it, he never got a satisfactory answer, just waffle from the HLC guy. Funny to watch.

BAND ON THE RUN- I was present in 1998 when a middle aged JW man ( who was obviously upset a child molester in the congregation was getting away with abusing children ) stormed the platform after a WT study ended and grabbed the microphone from the elder conducting the study. He yelled out to the audience, " I just wanted to let you brothers and sisters know that brother so and so sitting over THERE ( pointing at him ) is a child molester for the last 20 years and if you love your children you'll protect them from him ! " You could have heard a pin drop it was dead silence among 150 people in attendance. The WT conductor elder took the microphone back and said, " Brothers and sisters the elders are aware of this situation and handling it. "

But that middle aged JW man became my new hero back then. He obviously knew this mans child abuse offenses had been hidden or ignored by the elders for years and he reached his breaking point of staying quiet about it ! Soon after that the child molester was DFed and put in jail - however his kookie JW wife chose to stay with him even after 7 girls admitted they'd been molested by him ! So that's the closest thing I've seen to a dissident scene at a Kingdom hall. It was absolutely surreal. But much needed

    Designs,

I brought a Bible Study to the KH for his first visit and he started arguing with the Watchtower conductor during the study, pretty hilarious

That is sooo funny. I bet you were surprised. By the way--what ever happened to him? If you ever see him again let him know he is my hero.LOL

kazar- Will do, we were in High School together.

Worse outburst I did with a Circuit Overseer was during his visit I had just returned from a skiing trip to Mammoth and had broken some bones in my right hand (got pinned by a Bus skidding on ice) I put my right hand behind my back but it didn't work, he reached around and grabbed my hand hard and I yelled out JESUS CHRIST!!! Ever have 100+ people turn and look at you with Shocked faces

In the late 70's we had a new CO named Peter Lett. One Sunday while he was visiting, he got up on stage to introduce himself and his wife, and began telling everyone that his wife was from Germany. In the mean time, a drunken bum had come in and sat in the front row. When Bro. Lett said that his wife was from Germany, the bum jumped up in front of everyone and started yelling "She's a Kraut! She's a Kraut!" My Dad and a couple of other Elders escorted him out of the hall. Half of the people in the hall were shocked, and the others were trying to keep from laughing and snickering. It made for some fun conversation after the meeting!

I remember it happening on a few occasions. Mostly it was newbies who simply did not know or understand how commenting at the meetings worked and they were promptly cut off by the speaker.

One time however the person was not only cut off but the mike was taken from him and he was escorted out of the building under much protest.

I should have gotten a clue back then.......only a cult wouldn't allow for different POV's or be open for discussion.

These stories reminded me of an elder I knew who had met with the body to make a decision not to remodel the KH. It was 4 against and 1 for (the PO). When the PO got up at the service meeting and announced that the decision had been unanimously agreed to remodel. The elder I knew stood up and said he was lying and that 4 had voted against it. Well...you know that he was removed and moved away from that area and was never appointed again. He died though happy that for once he stood up.

We once had a woman, who was either a visitor or a study attend the meeting, and during the Watchtower study she apparently tried to answer a few times and the conductor didn't give her a chance, so when he ended the study and asked everybody to stand, she yelled at him, complaining that she had tried to answer a few times and he didn't give her a chance. I'm curious on what she had to say...
