    shamus100,

You’re welcome. I only hope folks make good use of this information.

It is not an everyday thing to find a data set providing hard numbers and a means to determine frequency in the Witness population from which to extrapolate a sum for deaths related to Watchtower’s blood doctrine.

    wannabefree,

    You write:

I think the conversation between the GB and Jesus might go a little like ....

I’m not sure Jesus would hear what they had to say in the first place.

My guess is Jesus would remind his followers to love. There’s nothing whatsoever loving about teaching folks they should refuse transfusion of blood poured out in donation by another human being for purposes of saving their life.

    steve2,

What you suggest would be tedious to determine since a primary reason blood products are transfused in trauma cases is to protect against effects of severe anemia, and severe anemia is the focus of the data set used in my extrapolation. My guess is there would be a tendency for a lot of statistical overlap.

I’ll give it more thought. Thanks for sharing the recommendation.

The worst part is, it is likely some on the GB feel that the blood position is wrong, but they either refuse to speak up or are voted down.

    Ziddina,

    You write:

Of course, the Watchtower Corporation would NEVER release actual numbers - and they may not - MAY not - have a totally accurate count, themselves.

Sometime prior to 1981 the Watchtower organization requested Dr. Denton Cooley to construct a statistical review of over 1,000 patients. I don’t know where or how Watchtower gathered this database of patients, but I can guess. Cooley’s findings were never published to my knowledge. My guess is there is a reason for this lack of publication. Watchtower knows something it does not want to make general knowledge.

    Giordano,

Some of the patient presentations you cite represent potential for raising the overall deaths suffered by the Witness population due to Watchtower’s blood doctrine. We’d need data providing hard numbers and frequency in the Witness population.

The guys at the top are selfish cowards more interested in maintaining their religion business than in loving people. If they were interested in righteousness they’d answer all the questions that have been posed to important details of their blood doctrine. But they refuse. Over and over again they refuse.

As best, they feel Jesus just can’t get it done without their dad-blame version of enforced uniformity termed “unity” by them.

Thanks for the figures Marvin. I followed your extrapolations closely and would suggest they are responsibly conservative . . . Steve2's point considered also. I saw a few blood dramas as a JW . . . harrowing affairs. My wife bled all over an operating theatre floor while I watched. Thanks to capable staff and random good fortune . . . she and my youngest are still here 17 years later.

Only the most callous and cold-hearted scumbags could ever be architects of this. The blood in their own veins could never pay the debt they owe. Bastards.

Count my Father as one of those who died because of the Wt. blood policy.
