Just for the background for possibly you and others. The "jubilees" celebrate the 50th year. 70 x 50 is 3500 years. This is seen as an obvious pattern in connection with the second coming by the Bible Students at that time. They thought 1925, based on their calculations, represented 3500 years since the date the Jews conquered the Promised Land and began to count their jubilees.

Now the concept is valid, but there are problems with the calculations. Basically, one would expect the messiah to fulfill the 70 jubilees in some way.

ADJUSTMENTS: For one, even though the jubilees celebrate the 50th year, it is not a year unto itself. The 50th year is celebrated on the 1st year of the next 49. So 70 jubilees are not 70 x 50 but 70 x 49 = 3430 years. That's the first adjustment.

Second, you have to start it at the right place. That's a subjective issue, but it turns out we can calculate precisely when it ends based on 1947. The Jews broke their covenant but a remnant of the Jews would fulfill the final jubilee, the last 49 years of the 3430-year period. November 30, 1947 is when that final jubilee began, when it is clear the Jews were restored to their homeland. The messiah would arrive in the last week of that jubilee period of 49 years. That jubilee was from 1947 to 1996. Forty-nine years is 7 weeks of years. So the messiah fulfills the 7th week of the jubilee period, arriving between 1989-1996. The Bible Students were expecting something in 1925, they were not sure what since they thought Jesus had already arrived in 1874 and then 1914. But actually, while the "presence" (parousia) did begin in 1874, his actual coming or arrival would not be fulfilled until the last week of the jubilee period. So in that regard, since the Christ did become flesh again in 1992, the middle of the 7th week, the concept of the 70 jubilees indeed has been fulfilled.

We can use 1947, though and this jubilee cycle to date two other critical events, that is, two other major jubilee events. One is the return from Babylon which begins the 70-week period in 455 BCE. 455 BCE is exactly 50 jubilees from 1947. So you have a 50th theme related to the jubilee of the return from Babylon. That is, for every 490 years there are 10 jubilees. Thus there are 10 jubilees from 455 BCE to 36 CE. Counting from 36 CE you have four more jubilee periods of 490 years, representing 40 more jubilees. So there is a total of 50 jubilees from the return from Babylon in 455 BCE to the end of the jubilee period in 1996.

50 jubilees is 50 x 49 = 2450.

2450 - 1996 = 454 + 1 = 455

The second great jubilee event, of course, is the EXODUS! The 70th jubilee from 1947-1996 is the 70th from the time of the Exodus. So you have fulfillment of both the 50th and 70th jubilees in 1947-1996. As noted, the entire period ends in 1996 and thus begins in 1435 BCE. The very first year of the 70 jubilees is not a jubilee. The first jubilee would be 49 years later and thus in 1386 BCE. Thus we can date the Exodus correctly via 1947 jubilee.

70 x 49 = 3430

3430 - 1996 = 1434 BCE + 1 = 1435 BCE

1435 - 49 = 1386 BCE (Exodus)

We have an astronomical text dated to year 12 of Akhenaten based on a solar eclipse in 1375 BCE. That is one reference that would begin the rule of Akhenaten in 1386 BCE. So there is potentially a confirmatory secular reference that the Exodus, indeed, occurred in 1386 BCE at the beginning of his reign. Of course, after the ten plagues, Akhenaten dropped all the false gods of Egypt and became a monotheist worshipping "Yahweh" via "Aten." So his sudden change to monotheism testifies to the reality and dating of the Exodus.

So all is well now. The Bible Students were focussing on chronology, as usual, and the 70 jubilees is a reasonable application in relation to being fulfilled in some way by the second coming. They just had the wrong dating. Later after 1925 failed they realized their dating of the conquering of the Promised Land 3500 years earlier was totally unsubstantiated by archaeology. 3500 years from 1925 would date the conquering of the Proimised Land in 1575 BCE. Right now the WTS dates the Exodus in 1513 BCE, which is still 127 years too early (Exodus was in 1386 BCE). 1575 makes no sense as far as the Egyptian dynasties and who was ruling at that time (Ahmose) and it certainly makes no sense archaeologically. The fall of Jericho by the Israelites is dated c. 1350-1325 BC, so there is a 200+ year discrepancy, which is a long time archaeologically, even back then. That is, Jericho was not desolated until 1346 BCE. Archaeology establishes it was still occupied until around that time before a long period of desolation of 400+ years. So there are lots of challenges to the 3500 years and the original dating linked to 1925. On the other hand, the corrected chronology based on the 70th jubilee beginning in 1947 aligns with the archaeological and historical findings perfectly!

I'm sure the WTS would love to put out a Watchtower study article focussing on the fulfillment of the jubilees, but they can't without exposing themselves as the "evil slave." This is yet another fulfillment taken from then and given to Lazarus to enjoy. Lazarus and his knowledge torments the "rich man" who represents the GB of JWs. Lazarus represents the returned Christ in the flesh.

Within ten more years, the whole doctrine of the 144,000 heavenly class and Great Crowd earthly class would also be invented - can it be said that it was any better, or had any more validity?

The WTS. publishing house had always been conniving and deliberately posturing its theological doctrines on misinformation,

not very surprising since its was founded upon the works of charlatans, trying to attract attention to their books and other pieces

of literature. This stature of BS actually drove away the first President of the WTS ( W. Conley ) leaving it pretty much in the hands of C. Russell.

It shows even back then people could see through this pretentious endeavor.

So the lies and corruption continues by the WTS., covering over its maligning corruption by using tactics of fear and other coercive tactics.

The WTS. shows that you can commercially construct a Faith around a publishing company and make it inobvious to its core intension.
