Before this project was annnouced, some JWs were already getting the attention of passerby in NYC, setting up tables. This is nothing new. However, this is the first time the Branch has organized this form of preaching.

Each month, JWs in these stations have set up tables with displays advertising a selected article from one of the magazines. Each month they they change the attractive colorful display. The displays also let people know they have publications in many languages, something that has gotten the attention of many, NYC being an international city.

JWs have set up stations in four locations to start out. One of the locations is Columbus Circle. So far, 100 Pioneers who have participated in this project have placed 1,200 books and have started 120 Bible Studies. Interested people from different religious backgrounds have approached them asking for literature in their language.

Most JWs didn't like "street work." I only remember "pioneers" doing it for the most part. Desparate hours kind of thing.

Unlike in our door-to-door ministry service, with the Manhattan Project (and
as this spreads elsewhere}, permits, insurance and indemnities usually will
be required. Anyone volunteering in this area of the ministry MUST comply
with Caesar, and is responsible for obtaining them individually, as an
expression of our personal ministry. We are NOT official representatives of
    an organization;
the Branch will NOT do this for us. This work falls under
the category of 'Expressive Activity' and must be done individually, so
nobody should be involved with this who cannot be responsible and reliable
to make sure his/her proper permits, insurance, and indemnities are not all
in place FIRST. However, the Legal Dept. is a resource for research on what
is needed & supporting our success by answering questions, of course.

The WBT$ is abandoning JW`s in case of any legal problems..

If a JW gets in trouble..

    Too bad..

The WBT$ isn`t going to help them..

    Good Luck Suckers!..

Those Bibles, actually the NWT, not a Bible, will end up in circular files. Certain steretotypes are true. Most will view it as junk.
