As a physician, no matter what he was paid, he should have cared for his patient instead of killing him. Too bad he did not have a longer sentence than 3 years, but it shows how much life is worth today.

I'm kinda surprised by the passion over this guy's conviction. I mean before MJ died he was pretty much viewed as an eccentric freak, and a possible Chester. I don't want to go as far and say the world is better off without him, but for many he wasn't exactly babysitter material. Why's this doctor being so vilified? I just don't get it.

Murray was not negligent. He was criminally negligent which is a different negligence than in torts. It requires more not being on the job. He seems to make his patients his friends which can blur his role as an md. He knew of MJ"s multiple addictions. They say he could not sleep b/c he was withdrawing from meds so he could perform well. If he saw an addiction expert, his meds could have been tapered with some discomfort. He used his status with Jackson to get girlfriends. He had no rescue equipment. CPR was performed incorrectly and he is a cardiologist. I was not a MJ fan though I appreciated his talent. MOney usually buys you better care. He received abysmal care. Sad. I saw "This Is It>" If he felt so crummy, he had to have awesome skills to perform as he did.

I just noticed an extremely racist ad pop up with this thread. It is an advertisement for a criminal record check website. A black man with eyes popping out to California is pictured. The photo is most of the ad. It is the trashiest piece I've seen since posting here. Curious if anyone else sees it.

Maybe they have some secret knowledge of the men you date, and think that you need them?

Why's this doctor being so vilified?

Because he took an huge salary from a patient, and proceeded to administer drugs illegally to said 'patient', under unsafe conditions, which led to his patient's death.

He's a DOCTOR... 'First, do no harm'.... is supposed to be a sacred oath they take ... lololol! (imho) ... and it has NOTHING to do with the prior criminal accusations against his patient.

I get where you're coming from, but whether it was Jackson or somebody else that wasn't famous, this doctor was criminally negligent and caused a death. He has to be tried and punished if found guilty.

What irritates me is the press coverage over it. It's only because it's Jackson's death. In life, he was a superstar up until the last several years and then he was a joke. But when he died, everyone forgot the freak show that was his life...and his scandals. Now he's a legend to be worshipped and revered. And so the cable news networks carried this coverage to the extreme in order to boost ratings.

They're not much better than the scyophants who helped Jackson into an early grave.

I agree Undercover. We've all heard, Thou shall not kill, it doesn't say, thou shall not kill normal people.

This DR had a substance that he acquired illegally, administered it in an unsafe setting, and chose to cover his ass rather than saving the patient. Michael was very much gone when the EMT's arrived. He was cold and his eyes were dry and dilated. Dead for a while.

Don't get me started on the news coverage.

My passion on this has nothng to do with MJ. My father is a doctor, as are my brother and sister. Conrad Murray is a blot on the family profession. His first duty was to care for his patient, and any idiot should have been able so see that MJ needed to be in a hospital were his addiction could be treated. This is not something you do at home, no matter who you are. My first four days in rehab were in a special wing were they can keep track of your vital signs while detoxing. And all I had in my system was twenty or thrity years of worth of alchoho.
