OUTLAW, its also a day we give too much praise to turkies and cranberry sauce... and pumpkin pies.
Happy Thanksgiving from Canada, This one is not a DF offense.

Though it is a nationalistic holiday. It is a time to be joyful, grateful, and enjoy a good family get-together.

Jehovah’s Witnesses also respectfully refrain from participating in such national holidays. Though we respect the authorities in whatever country we may reside, for conscientious reasons we do not give them what we view as worshipful honors. We remain neutral toward all such celebrations. This is in keeping with Jesus’ words regarding his followers: “They are no part of the world, just as I am no part of the world.”—John 17:16.
^^^ - you have to read the above about three times to realize just how completely nuts that comment is.
There is literally nobody in the U.S. or Canada that views Thanksgiving as "giving worshipful honors to the authorities of the country". NOBODY.
It was intended as thanks to God (or, for many, Nature) for having food for the winter - literally NOTHING about worship for the political system of the country. For the crying out loud - it is NOT the fourth of July, watchtower writers...

I sure hope that you catch that turkey, Poppers.
But, it's making me dizzy just watching you chase it..or maybe it's the Crown Royal
Crown Royal drinking is not celebrating Thanksgiving, or, is it?
What has the WTS written about that?

My wife's family has always has a Turkey dinner with the family on Thanksgiving, something my own mother would shudder at....
....this is why I love these folks! -

My wife's hardcore JW family typically spends tnaksgiving trawling around looking for a JW family that cooks the traditional meal. Barring that, they'll usually find a restaurant to go to to get a little T & D.

We used to go to non JW relatives for Thanksgiving weekend. Someone had a wedding anniversary around that time of the year, and that was how we managed to avoid getting in trouble with the Elders™.
Then again, I knew some JWs who would do a big turkey dinner and have lots of guests over on Thanksgiving weekend. The long weekend made visiting out of town friends and relatives quite do-able, and well, turkey is on sale and feeds a big (but not "great") crowd so why not?
BTW, I made an amazing pumpkin spice cake for dessert. Recipe link.
