Not to be morbid, but I was half expecting it.... Unfortunate loss, she had a great voice and a unique style (which I didn't really care for). She did have talent and could have been so much more if she wasnt so self destructive.

Its a very hard thing for a person to keep themselves clean and away from drugs and alcohol in the music business especially where it is so posthumously
socialy supported. This comes from personal experiences !
The other unfortunate aspect involving the industry is that many times artists try to elevate their creative talents by indulging in these abusive behaviors.
This most likely what happen to Amy Winehouse, realizing herself that by using drugs actually may have uplifted her musical career to reach the hight of
popularity as it did, she reversed herself back to that prior state with now tragic results.
How many musicians have fallen into this trap, unfortunately too many.

I don't think anyone is really surprised to hear of death, she lead her life like a train wreck waiting to happen, I do feel sorry for her parents, I remember seeing an interview with her dad who unlike Dina Lohan, saw and acknowledged that his daughter had issues and needed to get herself together.

Other than Rehab (which I think gained something from the 'irony') which was Ok I don't think she displayed a huge amount of tallent other than as a train-wreck that people could watch.

I feel sorry for Mitch Winehouse and the rest of her family - a parent should not have to outlive their child, especially when in circustances where the death could well have been prevented. Truly tragic.
