I agree, the less said the better. Make NO mention of the WT or religion; if they bring up what you said in the past, just say something offhanded like Yeah, I was a little over the top, sorry.
And let it go.
If they ask you if you think it is Jehovah's organization, say YES if you want to hang with them. It sucks to lie but they set the rules, they seem to prefer hearing it.
