I'm enjoying all your comments, especially Quendi and Journey On. Also the "noo lite" that peace and security comes after the destruction of Babylon the Great instead of before (as Blondie pointed out). Wait a minute... I think he just said it just would be the leaders of Christendom. What about the other world religions? When do they meet their demise?

Have you noticed that the WT always keeps talking about "new scrolls"? My Bible only says that "scrolls will be opened." Nothing about their being new.

As for the "Peace and Security" cry, it has been mentioned enough in the media and by politicians over the past couple decades that the Borg can retrofit any of the already-stated quotes to fit the "cry" as past and done, if it comes to that.

*** pe chap. 21 p. 181 pars. 16-17 Judgment Day and Afterward ***In his vision John saw how they are judged. “And scrolls were opened,” he wrote. “And the dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds. And the sea gave up those dead in it, and death and Hades gave up those dead in them, and they were judged individually according to their deeds.”—Revelation 20:12, 13.

What are the “scrolls” that are opened from which “the dead” as well as “the living” are judged? Evidentlythey will be something in addition to our present Holy Bible. They are inspired writings or books that contain Jehovah’s laws and instructions. By reading these all people on earth will be able to know God’s will. Then, on the basis of the laws and instructions in these “scrolls,” everyone on earth will be judged. Those who obey the things written therein will receive the benefits of Christ’s ransom sacrifice, and they will gradually grow to human perfection.

*** kl chap. 19 p. 185 par. 13 When the Knowledge of God Fills the Earth ***There will be an extensive educational program under the direction of the King Jesus Christ and his 144,000 corulers. New “scrolls” will then come into use. Evidently these are God’s written instructions that will serve as a basis for educating earth’s inhabitants. (Revelation 20:12)

*** w98 7/1 p. 22 par. 15 “Death Is to Be Brought to Nothing” ***How will returning ones be “judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds”? These scrolls are not the record of their past deeds; when they died, they were acquitted of the sins they committed during their lifetime. (Romans 6:7, 23) However, resurrected humans will still be under Adamic sin. It must be, then, that these scrolls will set forth divine instructions that all must follow in order to benefit fully from the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

*** bh p. 214 par. 3 Judgment Day—What Is It? ***According to the apostle John’s vision, “scrolls were opened,” and “the dead were judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds.” Are these scrolls the record of people’s past deeds? No, the judgment will not focus on what people did before they died. How do we know that? The Bible says: “He who has died has been acquitted from his sin.” (Romans 6:7) Those resurrected thus come to life with a clean slate, so to speak. The scrolls must therefore represent God’s further requirements. To live forever, both Armageddon survivors and resurrected ones will have to obey God’s commandments, including whatever new requirements Jehovah might reveal during the thousand years. Thus, individuals will be judged on the basis of what they do during Judgment Day.

*** re chap. 41 pp. 298-299 par. 14 God’s Day of Judgment—Its Joyful Outcome! ***However, John has just mentioned other scrolls that will be opened during the Millennial Reign. (Revelation 20:12) What will these be? At times, Jehovah has given specific instructions for particular situations. For example, in Moses’ day he provided a detailed series of laws that meant life for the Israelites if they obeyed. (Deuteronomy 4:40; 32:45-47) During the first century, new instructions were given to help faithful ones to follow Jehovah’s principles under the Christian system of things. (Matthew 28:19, 20; John 13:34; 15:9, 10) Now John reports that the dead are to be “judged out of those things written in the scrolls according to their deeds.” Evidently, then, the opening of these scrolls will publish Jehovah’s detailed requirements for mankind during the thousand years. By applying in their lives the regulations and commandments of those scrolls, obedient humans will be able to lengthen their days, attaining finally to everlasting life.

*** w67 9/1 p. 523 Will You See Your Dead Loved Ones Again? ***What are the scrolls that will be opened during that thousand years? They are not the record of the past earthly life of the ones being judged. There would be no sense in bringing forth this record, for, since no one is righteous in his own works, it would only condemn him. It is this imperfection that they are trying to get rid of. The “scrolls” are the law books of Jehovah, publications setting forth his will for all people on earth during Christ’s millennial reign. Under the full rule of the Kingdom arrangement there will be many new additions and many things to be done, requiring these books of instruction that will come from Jehovah through his Kingdom government under Christ. Depending on the way that those facing judgment obey what is written in these scrolls, according to these deeds, they will be judged.

Thanks for finding those quotes, Blondie. I remember some of them at the time they were written and wondered if they weren't applying the "new scroll" idea to their WT articles.

    "New books of instruction".

Imagine what the WTS can do with new books! Article after article! New brochures! More and more to study! New light!

This will keep the writers and the presses going for the next thusand years!

Exactly, new books to be purchased equals incoming money, which also means new articles to be studied at the Halls

offered up as spiritual food for the flock. No matter how debased in ignorance that information is its still holds pertaining value to the WTS.

If after a few years pass and the conclusion becomes that we were wrong they can as they always say we were not perfectly clear

as to this new light........ evidently, the money though stays in the WTS. bank accounts, thats a certainty.
