What a losing proposition - they can't outrightly ban Facebook but try to demonize it. Net result: Witnesses will rationalize and do whatever they want.

I remember when smoking was frowned upon, but you couldn't be DFd.

I wonder if one day, they'll do the same for the internet?

I'm sure they could find a scriptural principle.

I am pretty sure they have already said that associating with DF'd persons is a DFing offense, so someone who has a friend who is DF'd on FB is in trouble, and just the same view is being extended to "inactive" ones.

To socialise in any way with inactive ones is being frowned upon, and if you ignore the counsel on this you are guilty of "Brazen conduct" or whatever they like to lable what you do.

They will tighten up as much as they dare on Internet usage by engendering fear of being thought of as a "doubter" by just communing with faders and the like via the Net.

The GB are scared s**tless that the Net will diminish dona$ions. They don't care if many people leave, but they hate to lose the $$$£££

Evidently, one's participation on FB and such can have effect on determining if "irreprehensible" or "reasonable" or "humble [meaning: submissive to GB]" and qualified to be appointed as MS/Elder.

Could it eventually become BRAZEN conduct for failure to heed to counsel?

(Edited to add: Sorry, Wobble. Hadn't read far enough to see that you already suggested that idea.)

wobble I thought the new elder book said it's not a JC offence unless you have spiritual conversations or disregarding the JC decision... I wonder if that means FB Friends? I don't know but i do have some JW's that haven't deleted me yet and on my facebook I call JW's a cult...

I even posted it on my facebook that my Brother deleted me because I don't believe in the same religion as him.

I bet he read your post. Nothing makes them squirm like telling the truth about "The Truth!"!
