LOL, oops is right, but I still expect the Awake meet its maker sooner than later.

Ballistic, that would be great if you don't mind. I'm keeping a file on all of their "scholarly work" so another nail in the coffin is always good.

Big ooops.. I assumed Awake! because someone said something about an Awake writer.

I guess it must be the "public" WT, which while not as public friendly as the Awake! isn't as cult indoctrinating as the Kool Aid edition.

I will have a look, what really is annoying though is that Viktor E. Frankel may well use that term to describe the condition of some people, but the whole thrust of his book is that there is purpose to life, and what greater example than someone who lived through life in a concentration camp,

then the Watchtower state "many are unable to escape what Austrian neurologist Viktor E. Frankel described as a "sense of meaninglessness and emptiness"...

in other words the Watchtower is saying, don't bother reading Viktor E. Frankels book because the conclusion is that man lives with a sense of meaninglessness and emptiness"... and this is the exact opposite of the truth and the entire opposite of whatthe book is about.

Yes they take that quote from Viktor Frankel out of context. His entire book was about how he found meaning in life and survived in a concentration camp.
I hate it when they do this, trying to throw around a few important writers and to try and prove their ignorant points. Viktor Frankel was also a psychiatrist. he did not need jws to help him figure out how to survive.

" We can discover this meaning in life in three different ways: (1) by creating a work or doing a deed; (2) by experiencing something or encountering someone; and (3) by the attitude we take toward unavoidable suffering."

Anyone who has had psychology 101 would know who he was and also know they have taken him out of context. it was one of the first books I read when I began to think for myself and very much admire Viktor Frankel and do not like them using his words, out of context, for their purpose of trying to look liberal.

edited to correct spell checks insistence to spell his name Victor

This is the Showcase Washtowel, not the Asleep!. And, like the Asleep!, it is a scam.

What they do is present the problem, and then give a "solution". Of course, the "solution" is to join their cult, which will only lead to even worse problems. It is bad enough that we are in for hyperinflation, the fake energy crisis, the S-510 famine, and the sick care system passed last March. But, throw in the demand to waste resources in a parasitical organization and all the bans on things you could have done to prepare for the above, and you only make a bad situation even worse.

Oh not another depressing awake article: What is the meaning of life blah blah blah

I love the way they quote a "neurologist" . . . like a brain specialist has more insight on philosophical questions like "the meaning of life" . . . so what! . . . it sounds better than "A qualified plumber once said . . . " . . . but is no more weighty IMO

My next door neighbour is 89 . . . she said to me recently . . . "I don't mind when I go . . . I've had a good and satisfying life" The truth is she's had her share of "troubles"

The issue to me is more about the failure of some to accept death . . . rather than the "meaning of life"

Just because we don't understand something doesn't make it unnacceptable . . . neither should it prevent us from finding meaning and satisfaction from life.

They are simply "fanning a flame" to prime the mind for their mind-bending fairy stories.

    typical WT shite

first convince the person life is awful, then offer them the magic elixer.

by the time they wake up, their head is spinning because they realize that life is even tougher as a drone.
