Just as a side point, my father met Greenlees at Bethel years ago during an elder school trip.
He had no idea that the guy was on the GB - he just got the immediate impression that Greenlees was a very nasty and ill-tempered man. They actually got into a sort of feud over who got to use a certain sink in the men's room - Greenlees had one that he thought was "his".
Somebody got my dad off to the side and told him that this asshat was on the Governing Body, therefore he had better cool it.
When I resigned as an elder, I told my cong. PO and secretary that I didn't "know" and "trust" the Faithful and Discreet Slave well enough to continue being an elder. I said that since I didn't personally know any anointed, the least I should have done was "know" something of the governing body, as it was their adjustments I was promoting in talks.
I already knew what happened to them, but I slyly slipped in that I tried to learn about all the GB members past and present and I could not figure out what happened to a couple of them. "I couldn't find any Watchtower information on three names. It's as if they disappeared from the Governing Body but didn't die. They were Ray Franz, Lee Greenless and Edward Chitty. Do you guys know what happened to them?"
They stared at each other for a good 10 seconds and finally the secretary tried to say that I didn't need to literally "know" each one of the Governing Body and they never went back to the subject.
