We are still paying for the evil that was Ronald Reagan. One day the reality that he was one of the worst Presidents in our history will be a given.

I guess some people have to find somebody to look down on to feel better about themselves.

JeffT, in a fit of irony: "I guess some people have to find somebody to look down on to feel better about themselves."

Yes, Jeff, I totally agree with you about Glenn Beck, and Rush Limbaugh and the rest of the psychopathic clown parade. I feel I'm doing my best in shining a spotlight on them for always finding somebody to look down on in order to feel better about themselves. It's nice to see that we agree on something.Smiley

Here's a song about having someone to look down on. I don't think Villa is guilty of that. Glen Beck and Rush spread division and hate. They make careers of evil.

    Historical Revision, Part II

Obama Actually GREW UP In Kenya!

    Not Just Born There

Next they'll be saying that he never lived in the United States but just came to visit for his presidential election.

    Or maybe there's another explanation:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confabulation#Organic_causes

    Wikipedia

    Organic causes

Berlyne (1972) defined confabulation as "...a falsification of memory occurring in clear consciousness in association with an organically derived amnesia". He distinguished between:

    • "momentary" (or "provoked") confabulations—fleeting, and invariably provoked by questions probing the subject's memory, sometimes consisting of "real" memories displaced in their temporal context.
    • "fantastic" (or "spontaneous") confabulations—characterized by the spontaneous outpouring of irrelevant associations, sometimes bizarre ideas, which may be held with firm conviction.

Patients who have suffered brain damage or lesions, especially to the prefrontal cortical regions, may have confabulation of memories as a symptom. Patients with Korsakoff's syndrome characteristically confabulate by guessing an answer or imagining an event and then mistaking their guess or imagination for an actual memory. In some cases, confabulation results from the brain's chemistry, a mapping of the activation of neurons to brain activity. [4] [5] Confabulation can also occur as a result of damage to the anterior communicating artery (ACoA), in the Circle of Willis. Patients with a split-brain will confabulate under experimental conditions.

Some military agents, such as BZ, and deliriant drugs such as those found in datura, notably scopolamine and atropine, may also cause confabulation.

Within personal relationships, confabulation may be difficult to detect. Regardless of its biological or psychological etiology, simple lies and purposeful deception are included in the confabulation differential, as well as deep rooted psychopathological disturbance and early-stage dementia. The historical background of the confabulating individual rarely provides supporting evidence for their "fables", however tangentially related. Fables may be embellished beyond any possible evidentiary support and will usually ultimately reveal the disorder if appropriate investigations are applied. Those with long term relationships are most likely to recognize the disorder most quickly. Confabulations usually involve harmless matters, unlike the paranoid and psychotic delusions expressed in defense of abnormal actions of serious criminal actions.

Hoenig on Cashin' In: "Wealthy Earners Should Pay Even Less. The Poor Should Pay Much More" In Taxes

    http://mediamatters.org/mmtv/201103050006

I apologize for not being able to post this video directly but I stronly suggest that everyone watch it and pay close attention starting at the 1 minute 20 second mark.

This, so far, is the ultimate in right wing depravity. Hoenig, a regualar on Fox News (Should that surprise anyone?), is actually saying that the upper 2 percent are not only the ones who create wealth but that they should be paying less in taxes than everyone else because "...they are the ones who actually work for a living..."This is the comment starts at the 1 minute, 20 second mark.

It is not worth arguing with a man who despises workers with such impunity that he makes it clear that he would send us back to the middle ages where aristocrats ruled by divine order.

People like Hoenig merely state blatantly what the majority of right wing, corporate authoritarians believe, but don't have the guts to admit in public. People like Hoenig and the rest of his vampirical hordes are no different in spirit than Adolf Hitler, with his concept of a "Master Race"; or General Lee who fought to defend a race of "Master's".

Does one seriously think that you can educate, illuminate, infuriate enough people to stop them? Unfortunately the answer is yes. I'm not one of them. Hitler and General Lee reasoned by the barrel of a gun and by the same barrel can they only be responded to. It is, and will continue to be downhill from here on. And the situation created by people like him will only synergize with other problems that will soon beset us.

There is, and has always been to those fully aware of psychology and history, only one solution....

I hope to start a thread on the subject of psychopaths, the havoc that they wreak on the personal level/social level without being in a position of political or social power; how they are concentrated in positions of power; and the need to come to a realization, as clinical psychiatry and neuropsychiatry has done, that they are absolutely, irredeemably incorrigible and incapable of change.

Anyone who has known one for any length of time, with an objective mind that is not emotionally bonded to them, knows that. No degree in psychology is needed to perceive the blatantly obvious.
