    I didn't mean to infer that after 45 you have no power, just that it is not the same "raw power " .. a person is more reflective and

    cautious and as many have stated in above posts , "great influence" can be achieved in senior years Thanks for all your thoughts everyone !

    I think the setting matters with a more intellectual setting valuing age and wisdom. A 30 year-old attorney with "raw power" is usually much less effective than a 60 year-old with experience, restraint, and cunning. :)

    In a blue-collar setting, such as the trades (carpentry/electrical/etc.), youth and physical ability are probably more valued.

    I don't think 50+ individuals are necessarily more accepting. They simply know how to do twice the work with half the effort, which perhaps leads to the appearance of being more laid-back, accepting.
