When my Aunt died (No JW`s in that Family)..

My JW mom announced my Aunt had`nt gone to Heaven..She was Just dead..

    LOL!!!!!!..

    People went into Frigg`n Shock!!..

An old Family Friend reminded the Family.."My mom never knew when to Shut Up"..

Think about it, Ha! This is where one of Outlaws pictures would come in handy!

Choosing Life, yep my brother in law invited him to do it. I'm mad at him and so are his sisters.

On the way. I agree. I've never seen this done before.

A jw elder read the scripture about lazarus, being a sleep and told everyone, "Despite what you just heard, and were taught, **** is not in heaven, he is asleep.

What an asshole. Of course, this elder will not be the slightest bit embarassed by what he did---he'll simply feel that he was able to 'give a fine witness' to the crowds, hoping against hope that someone will ask for a free home bible study afterwards.

Ya, I'd seriously consider writing a letter to the editor of your local newspaper. How would a Witless like it if someone just came in the Hall during a funeral service and said "Despite what you just heard and were taught, **** is not just asleep in the ground, he's in heaven." They'd scream in protest if anyone ever did that.

LITTLEBIRD- I'm so sorry that happened to you and yours. If I was at that funeral- that elder would have received a shiner under his eye that he would not soon forget. Totally disrespectful and inhumane on his part. Hang in there

Outlaw, you're right, and yes he did make an ass of himself.

Mary, while he was making an ass of himself, he was probably thinking he was making a stand for jehovah and someone would want a bible study. Just stupid. He offended all but 2 people, my husband and my brother in law. They did their stupid service at the Hall on saturday, they had their say then. What would have happened if a chaplain came up to speak after the witless did. He'd be escorted off the stage, I'll bet.

I'm ashamed I was ever part of that group of arogant , self righteous, assholes.

No religious people can disrespect a person's family at a funeral more than JW's can.

Don't forget about the Westboro Baptist Church.

SirNose, this does sound like something the "rev" Phelps would do. It's an incredibly rude, callous thing to do to a grieving family. And they wonder why people slam the door on them...

Littlebird, I'm sorry this happened to you and your family.

I am so sorry your family had to experience that at such a time.

Their gall knows no bounds. They have absolutely no idea how their behavior insults people.

I am so glad my daughters will be in charge when I die. If my mother is still alive I doubt they will even tell her until after it is over if at all.

But let this be a warning to those of you who have poarents who might want to take over your funeral arrangements.

I am sorry this has just made bad situation worse. To ride rough shod over the family and embarrass family members in their time of grief was totally insensitive. The sad thing is that they don't see it themselves.

The good thing is that I don't think any non witnesses at the funeral would have been so impressed that they will be asking for a home bible Study any time soon.
