    Stephen Hawkings From here:

In The Grand Design we explain why, according to quantum theory, the cosmos does not have just a single existence, or history, but rather that every possible history of the universe exists simultaneously. We question the conventional concept of reality, posing instead a "model-dependent" theory of reality. We discuss how the laws of our particular universe are extraordinarily finely tuned so as to allow for our existence, and show why quantum theory predicts the multiverse--the idea that ours is just one of many universes that appeared spontaneously out of nothing, each with different laws of nature

There is not a shred of evidence, just speculation, I thought that scientists only believed in what they can see? How would it ever be proven?

Ofcourse, Hawkins is not aware of any of this critisism, and has clearly stated there is plenty of evidence for this particular hypothesis.

    ... or not.

UPDATED: To add more than sarcasm, Hawkins has clearly stated this is just his own personal hypothesis.

But Mad Dawg might want to argue that science has nothing to do with forming hypothesis which can later be tested.

    whooops, sarcasm again!

    Theorys are just that..Theorys..

If it could be proven..It wouldn`t be a Theory anymore..

To be more precise, this is not a theory... its really a hypothesis. Once it is demonstrateable, it would become a real scientific theory.

Not to be critical, but it's at this point a hypothesis. In science, a theory (different from the everyday term used) is the highest status something can attain.

So, it's a hypothesis at this point :)

Outlaw, that's the definitions of theory is common parlance. In science, definition number five is the closest, but since it's a general dictionary, not a specific scientific dictionary, it's not exact as respect that field of study.
