ok, well, it's just my mother, and if she calls, I'm SO not picking up and getting hollered at.
Texting is actually much better. I guess she resorted to that because I stopped replying to any religious emails...

Never discuss any other question. Not even one about 607. Not even why you ask. They must answer that question, and no other question, no matter how much they don't want to.
If they try to talk about anything else to do with religion... accuse them of whatever tactic they are using to avoid your question.
My Dubs have backed off and very seldom give me an opportunity to remind them that they haven't answered my question.
