The children are STILL NOT SAFE.

For those unfamiliar with WT Theology, "leave the matter in Jehovah's hands" is the same thing as "hope that Santa Claus will sort it out in December". You can hope in one hand and _____ in the other, and watch which hand fills up faster.

    Chapter 5, page 72, paragraph 39

    39. If the accused denies the accusation, the
investigating elders should try to arrange a meeting
with him and the accuser together. (Note: If the accusation
involves child sexual abuse and the victim
is currently a minor, the elders should contact the
branch office before arranging a meeting with the
child and the alleged abuser.) lf the accuser or the accused
is unwilling to meet with the elders or if the accused
continues to deny the accusation of a single
witness and the wrongdoing is not established, the
elders will leave matters in Jehovah's hands .

    Just skimmed Chapter 5...

So now we see where the brazen conduct is aimed... They ain't liking that the dubbies keep hanging out with DFd/DAd people.

Interesting point on page 65 about holidays:

Celebrating false religious holidays: Not all holidays directly involve false religion and require judicial action

So... birthdays are not false religious holidays. So according to this, if one celebrates b-days, no judicial action is required. Right?

They can nail you for xmas and Easter, but not Thanksgiving or even Independance Day...

"Evidently" they don't want to target those who celebrate Festivus. Still, elders and ministerial servants should probably abstain from it.

Even "worldly" courts know the dangers of an abused child having to face his abuser, this is why minors give video evidence? Many Elders are naive as to this policy (there have been lots of appointments in the last five years - younger elders) and I think that more than a few will be standing down after the school.

And one could apply the "pinata defense" to justify celebrating Halloween even...

What part about 'the elders should contact the "police" do they not get with child sexual abuse.' I really think the "law of the land" should have access to this and straighten them out on the proper procedure and how it does not involve contacting a branch office.

I was under impression that under the old KS book that association with a df'd relative was not a judicial offense. Can someone verify this? I'm wondering if this new brazen conduct by assocation with DF'd family members directive is new.

    5:40

Is the person willing to meet with a committee, thus admitting accountability to the Christian congregation?

There you have it folks. If you are asked to meet with the elders and refuse, you are NOT admitting accountability to the WTS. I like these little tidbits of 'insider' elder stuff. Makes me know how to fight them!

'Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies even closer.'

Please note above that the books says, "nonrelatives" .

Here is what the NEW elder book says about associating with relatives (not in the household) who are DF'd or DA'd.

    Chapter 10, page 116, paragraph 6.

    6. If members of the congregation are known to
    have undue association with disfellowshipped
or disassociated relatil'es who are not in the
household, elders should counsel and reason with
those members of the congregation from the Scriptures.
Review with them information from the
"God's Love" book, pages 207-208; The Watchtower
of April 15, 1988. pages 26-30; or the article "Display
Christian Loyalty When a Relative Is Disfellowshipped"
in the August 2002 Our Kingdom Ministry.
If it is clear that a Christian is violating the spirit of
the disfellowshipping decree in this regard and does
not respond to counsel, it may be that he would
not qualify for congregation privileges, which require
one to be exemplary. He would not be dealt with judicially
unless there is persistent spiritual associationor
he openly criticizes the disfellowshipping decision.
