I have learned a good rule of thumb in life: Whenever someone has to overexplain themselves, or even merely have to explain it, instead of relying on the clear sight test, there is an excellent chance that there is a lie, a misrepresentation, and a hidden agenda.

Put another way: Don't explain yourself. Your friends don't need it and your enemies won't believe you.

The WTBTS has no friends, only duped followers. Their enemies are the ones who have learned how much they lie. The only honest thing to say was "We were wrong." But they didn't.

End of story as to them being used by God. Next!

Could there be a fire in the movie theatre? Could be, could be!! Are we saying that there is a fire right now? We are not saying.

(Mad rush out the doors and random trampling of a few people.)

That's my take of 1975. I remember vividly how the majority of the congregation I was a attending reacted to 1975. In 1974, there were a lot of holidays to Hawaii, new cars, quitting jobs etc.

The semantic manipulation and revisionist history is astounding.
