How is this for a guess: Matthew was the Jewish Establishment version of the Gospels, and the 'weeds' and 'goats' were the Gentiles who wanted to join the Jesus cult?

At this point, any and all Witnesses with any real knowledge of the Bible are likely gone, so it's a bit moot. Even their defenders are just 'cut and paste' artists with glib comprehension (Alice). Still, it's galling to observe their fanatical devotion to an organizational ideal that Jesus never suggested.

'Jesus' never existed, but there may have been a good young Jew named Yeshua who tried to follow in the steps of his enlightened predecessors and contemporaries like Hillel who said- 'do unto others, that is the entire Torah'.....and then they went to Sabbath services and celebrated Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah and all of the other Festivals.
