This song is about a dog named Shannon who is lost in the waves of the sea. It was inspired the Irish Setter of Carl Wilson, the Beach Boy. It was popular when my oldest brother Cory died in a vehicle accident.

Oh, how sad...I'm really sorry that this happened.
Something similar happened to me, although it wasn't with a loved pet. I was riding my bike and I saw a squirrel in my path and slowed down. The bugger saw me and scampered off, so I continued. And for some unknown squirrel reason, the critter panicked and immediately reversed direction and ran straight towards me. I then felt a bump bump, and then I heard the horrible cry of an injured animal scampering away into the bushes. That made me feel awful for the rest of the afternoon.
