Heads up for Safari users, 5.0.1 working great with JWN!

  Hi JWNers,

  Just upgraded to the latest version of Safari and some of the new features are great http://www.apple.com/safari/whats-new.html

  The ad blocker extension is working great on all sites so far, this one included.

  Also, now Safari shows you the threads you have clicked on already :)

  Seems a little snappier too, believe the "Nitro Engine" hype!

  At least, its not overwhelming some routers anymore with its less aggressive DNS server pre-fetching. It was very annoying to previously have Safari 5.0 repeatedly say it wasn't connected to the server and end up having to use firefox.

  I haven't been able to even get on this site in Safari while using my iMac. It is version 4.1, though.

  Chalam, what kind of Mac do you have? I'm expecting a new iMac 21.5" to be delivered any day now. Maybe with that and the new Safari I'll be able to get on JWN without the problems I have now.

  I have a Mac Book Pro running 10.6.4 with Safari 5.0.1

  I expect you'll be fine with your nice new Mac but you can always try Firefox.

  I keep it on hand for the odd site (usually has flash) that won't function with Safari.
