A great CD from a newer group I recommend is " Brothers " by The Black Keys. These guys are good. Real bluesy, minor chord feel to it. Some songs will remind you of Hendrix, Led Zep, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Also reminds you of Michael Hutchence and INXS. Cool stuff.
Also been listening to Robin Trower's 2 new albums from 2009 & 2010 called " What Lies Beneath " & " The Playful Heart ". This guy has been a supreme guitarist for years on the rock scene. He's so smooth like David Gilmour & Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits. His vocal even sounds somewhat like Mark Knopfler . But somewhat better. I recommend a listen to all 3 of these CD's !
