I can remember a prayer when I was a kid that had people leaving before he was done. I don't know how long it was but it laster forever it seemed like.

It seems to me that you loose your audience pretty fast if your prayer goes to long. People started thinking this prayer is awfully long they start daydreaming, It would be an interesting experiment to see how long a prayer could go before people started leaving the room.

I think most of the stories of 10+ minute prayers are probably exaggerated. It just FEELS that long. Your average assembly closing prayer is 2 to 3 minutes that feels like at least 5.
