If you had to lose one of your five senses ...

Which of the five senses could you do without for a lifetime?

    1. Sight

    2. Hearing

    3. Taste

    4. Scent

    5. Feeling

I probably could do without scent, but I'd miss the smell of food. The sight and the taste would help substitute for the scent.

Oh, I would definitely miss the scent of a woman. Hoo-hah!

Which one could you do without and why?

Scent here for me too. Plus the scents of food would help my diet. ;)

I just learned that taste is hardwired with scent. Try tasting something while holding your breath. It's tasteless! I might have to change my choice.

HEARING. I have had poor hearing for a few years and as every one knows that it allows me to be 'selective' in what or who I listen to. If I went completely deaf I would miss the Stones of course. I wouldn't be able to hear at the meetings either.......

SIGHT is the one I really would not want to do without. Imagine walking to the beach this weather and not being able to see!

Yeah, I think I would rather lose my hearing than any of the other senses.

    Taste or scent

The others are necessary to function in day to day life, relatively.

I wouldn't care about losing any sense except my sense of irony. Can live without that. oh and sarcasm.

Scent would be the only one I could see living without. I've always said I'd rather be dead than blind, and I mean that. Same with being paralyzed. I love music too much to be without hearing. As loud as my ear buds are on any given day I'll probably be deaf in the near future. Hopefully the new system comes before than. To lose feeling, I don't know. Diabetic people end up getting amputations from lack of feeling. I wouldn't want to lose that. I wouldnt mind losing feeling as in emotion though. To be a cold, rotton bastard has its pluses. I love food too much, to lose taste. Being a JW is such a sucky experience that food is ultimately one of the only pleasures they can't criticize every 5 minutes.

If you can't smell you can't taste. So you lose two for one if you lose the sense of smell.

Losing any sense would be devastating, but losing smell and taste is not handicapping so I'd have to chose those.

    Taste, easily.
