What is the meaning in "Praying" for someone about to die ?

    I would imagine the Borg would say that it relates to the pagan belief in immortality of the soul and that the wicked of Christendom are praying for the souls of the dead to rest in peace in the bosom of their trinity-god.

    It seems to me that why people DO pray for dying ones is probably different from why people SAY they will pray for dying ones. People say it because it seems appropriate and may comfort the mourners. People do it because they believe in the power of prayer to help the dying one, the loved ones, and themselves.
