    I remember listening to his radio show as a kid. I heard the adults laughing out loud at the things the kids said. It sounded corny then and his shows have dated badly, a product of a time when children could get attention by saying innocently silly things.

    When his daughter committed suicide, a national newspaper ran a story headlined 'Kids Do the Darndest Things' and received a lot of criticism . I thought the turn of phrase was quite funny - although in the context of suicide, bordering on poor taste.

    I always liked that man. He was open about the pain of his daughter's suicide. I didn't hear much about suicide then. Maybe it was just me. I liked him.

    So young, it really makes you stop and think.

    Seriously, though, he never really got over his daughter's death. He was especially bitter towards Timothy Leary, who he blamed for her death:
