    Terry:

I think the pattern was set when Moses came down from Sinai.

He had the actual TEN words written with the finger of God!

He had an autograph copy of God's commands!

    Oh--but wait!

He got angry and busted them up into crumblies.

But, don't worry. Moses wrote COPIES with his own human hands.

    mP
And then he wrote the laws again in Deuteronomy. Deuteronomy means second law. The name tells you that someone somehwere write down a new set of laws and falsely claimed they were from moses.

Actually, Moses carved more stone, went back up the mountain, and God wrote the law on those tablets again.

    Just sayin'

    Peace,

Second Law - interesting - well the quality of the law was superior

to the nations around them, in that it included - washing yourself - a lot

    - and not eating pork and animals that contained

    parisites and dangerous bacteria -

it also was the first set of laws about kindness to animals.

not muzzling an Ox, because the animal deserved wages for his work

Cities of Refuge -degrees of crime - intentional and unintentional -

Some semblance of trial by jury - some human rights -

rules about how to treat strangers -

Rules about the treatment of the most vulnerable in society,

like widows and orphans - Rules that said you could not

push back the boundary of a widow's land.

The 'Law of the Gleaners', requiring rich landowners to leave

the end of the harvest for the poor.

    village girl. Nice.

Before the Mosaic law, there was no law. Nothing to determine sin, in a legal sense.

How do you know that? april one?

Did not Joseph receive a Life prison sentence for

    ATTEMPTED RAPE?

Did the civilisations beyond the hebrew horizon exist, prospered without Law?

are the most iimportant laws not 13.8 billion years old?

a year for every 1000$ the US ows?

Sin and its consequences and its legal remedy, the ransom, were outlined 4000+years before Moses,

so says the bible . the word of----

    thank you for the suggestion.

    mP:

So why do we have a second revision in Deuteronomy ? WHy is God changing his mind straight away but couldnt figure out slavery was wrong ?

    MP:

How is pointlessly killing and sacrificing animals by the thousands every week and year, showing kindness to animals ? Why not let them live and find another way to pay for "sin". The truth is the sacrifices were eatten by the priests. It was a scam for free food.

The jews got lucky on not eatting pigs, its a shame they didnt actually discover any real medicine but stupidly beliwved out of ignorance that devils made people sick. So much for Gods knowledge.

    VG:

not muzzling an Ox, because the animal deserved wages for his work

    MP:

So how exactly did they pay the ox ? What a stupid statement. You have no idea how they treated their animals and because of one minor point you think that makes everything fine.

    VG:

Cities of Refuge -degrees of crime - intentional and unintentional -

    MP:

How is letting criminals run of to those cities a good thing ? Imagine all convicts in america could run of to NYC or LA. Thats a terrible arrangement. Who would want to live in a city where lots of murders or rapists could live. if you think its a great idea why not open your house for convicts who leave prison for rape.

    VG

Some semblance of trial by jury - some human rights -

    MP:

Have you read how the bible says to tests if a woman is guilty of adultery. How is drinking dirty water and verifying if she got sick, a fair trial ? Its obvious you have never read the bible but only read certain sanitized portions.

    VG:

rules about how to treat strangers -

    MP:

Yes by giving your daughter to be raped like Lot. What a fine example

    VG

Rules about the treatment of the most vulnerable in society,

like widows and orphans - Rules that said you could not

push back the boundary of a widow's land.

    MP:

And what if the widow had no land to begin with ? Theres no a single example of charity to an orphan or old woman in the entire Bible.

    VG:

The 'Law of the Gleaners', requiring rich landowners to leave

the end of the harvest for the poor.

    MP

In other words leave the diseased, worthless unwanted harvest, rather than letting the orphans and widows pick first or from the harvested product they are forced to pick the scraps.

MY country is a thousand times better, nobody is hungry, free medicine, free hospital, pensions and more. How exactly does the Queen manage to rule her dominions with these services to the public but God couldnt manage even one for his people in the OT ?
