I thought fading was going to be easy.

I agree with many of the above posters. Just rip off the band-aid and don't go back. Why put yourself through the anxiety of sitting there listening to that crap when you know the the real TRUTH? Just keep repeating the same reason of why you're not going and why you won't see or talk to any elder. Don't listen to any of them . Keep repeating until they leave you alone.

Don't worry so much about your mother. You have to do what is right for YOU. Your mother will grow to accept it.

tell the elders you dont agree with the generation understanding.they would be more than eager to escort you out.if enough assert themselves maybee some elders will join in also.

    LOL Jehovahsheep.

I think it is very important to listen to your body. You are having physical symptoms b/c of this. Don't underestimate the dis-ease to your body because of doing something you don't agree with.

We could not fade. Too slow and drawn out. I like that analogy above about the cold pool. Everyone is different but you have to decide if the psycho/physiologic cost of fading is worth it.

Thank you all for your advice and support. It helps that others understand. I just need to take each day at a time. It's good that summer is approaching, because I can go away for weeks at a time, just like a lot of the elders do.

Get some friends on the outside. Start taking classes of some sort and start meeting more people. Also try to find an ex-Jdub meetup group in your area. When you have more support on the outside, just leave and don't look back. You cannot live life the way your mom wants you to. She makes her decisions (to be a JW) and you make yours (not to be a JW). Stop wasting your life! You are one of the smart ones, embrace it!

Dear E-I, You are going about this all wrong. First you have to make everyone feel "glad' that you aren't at the meetings. What do JWs loath? It is helping a needy, clingy and broke JW.

Start asking for money- tell everyone you have expensive medical needs, you need $$ for your meds, $$ for car repairs, $$ for bills, etc. Ask to see the elders and ask for congregational help $$, physical help, whatever. Whoever you sit next to in the KH, start talking about your problems and ask them, if they could help out. I guarantee that in less than a month the JW's will be glad they don't see you at the KH and heading for the seat next to them at the meeting -- they won't bother you anymore, either.

    Dear Emptyinside,

    ((HUGS))

I, as well as most here can completely relate!! I remember going to the meetings after I learned enough about 607 to know it was a complet lie, sitting there listening to them drill that date into the audience over and over and over again....I could not believe how often it was talked about...until then I had never realized it. However, once I knew the truth, I knew WHY they were pounding it in over and over...it was that they were brain washing us!!

That in itself made it almost impossible to sit there...I remember after the meetings there was always someone who would always say..."Are you ok? Your so red!" I would always put on a smile and of course "fake it" saying, "Oh...it's just really hot in here!!" It got to the point that every time I started getting ready for the meeting I would unconsciencesly (spelling??) start huffing and letting out loud sighs...my husband would say, "Are you going to be OK??" I would tell him how hard it was to sit there and listen to the lies...he felt the same..but I just had a harder time holding it all in...finally we just quit going...it was emotionaly way too much. And like you I just could not in good conscience go out and teach to others something I knew was an out and out lie. So we quit going out in service too...

All of this happened relatively fast...and I think the congregation did not know what hit them when we left either...

Hang in there...you can vent here!!

    Sincerely,

    Lady Liberty
