    Neither wrote personal histories. Socrates was explained by Plato [and others] - probably explaining himself through Socrates? Jesus was explained by his followers - likely grandiose embellishment that created a legend that never was.

    sorry about the confusion.

    What I meant to say is that Socrates questioned what truth was as did Pilate. Did Jesus ever explain what truth actually is?

    Plato's Socrates at least is a blend of fact and fiction. Both Jesus and Socrates are larger than life figures - but somehow they are believable imo.

    Yes - The NEB claims in John 14:6 that Jesus said:

    'I am the way: I am the truth and I am life; no one comes to the father except by me.'
