God the Great Watcher With Hurt Feelings, Rage, Jealousy and Everything Human

The idea of a God that made everything, knows everything, and has feelings and opinions about everything seems a bit preposterous and based on a pile of assumptions which are extremely anthropomorphic in nature.

Needless to say the Biblical Deity resembles a human with megalomania, or a human with an inflated ego. He demands love from his worshippers with nothing less than to love him with ones whole heart and soul. Based to a large part on godly fear and terror, for the consequences of not loving him are,, ah well,,punishment of some sort depending on which brand of religion or interpretation one subscribes to. This type of love can never be a genuine love from the heart, it is more of a forced love,, sorta like a do it or your dead meat. Well it don't make sense.

Now there are many who feel that the bible Deity is not real but feel there is still some type of Deity out there that watches everything you do some great consciousness that see all of everything that happens, everything that is thought in every mind in every thing no matter how developed the brain or nerve endings it is connected to everything and experiences everything through everything. Well if that is the case then nothing stands out, and must be met with the greatest indifference.

To me they are all assumptions, based to a large degree on some type of comfort they offer, comfort perhaps that your not alone in your thoughts, that someone is reading your mind, or that you can connect with this great mind and share some of the experience though meditation or higher consciousness, or as they say cosmic consciousness.

Well, if that Almighty Lowlife Scumbag can hurt my feelings continually and think it's acceptable, then I shall feel zero guilt for hurting His feelings on purpose. After all, making me with the inborn desire for a mate, and then setting up a whole system to prevent me from finding one is itself grounds to treat that Almighty Lowlife Scumbag with nothing but contempt. Add to that trying to exploit the situation for Himself, and He wonders why I chose to do apostasy.

God demands nothing. God needs nothing.

God respects our choices. He has no need to punish. He has no need to force us to join him. Rather, God invites us to fellowship with him, and respects our rejection or acceptance.

God does not need to watch. To have to watch implies that he needs to learn something. We humans observe, because our knowledge is limited. Since God knows everything, from the beginning to the end of time, why would he need to watch?

    BTS,

This idea of "knows everything" from the beginning to the end of time to my mind conveys the thought to my mind sensual experiences, as well as any other type of experience and the list can get very long example:

What an amoebae is doing and how it experiences the world around it, what the different fishes in the sea are all experiencing through their sensory organs, what's each individual molecules perspective as its moving and bouncing against one another, what going on in the sun with each fusion of each atom etc.... the list grows to infinity when we take this thing literally.

Here is one way it "could" be valid.................the bible does describe God as having created all things from himself in a sense, having an abundance of dynamic energy. I read a scripture if he were to withdraw his spirit, everything in existence would fall lifeless. (wish could recall it offhand) So if your existence is apart of him (when one dies spirit "returns" to him), if we are part of his dynamic energy, then he would know EVERYTHING.

BTS, one reason I respect you is that you do accept responsibility for your beliefs, and I think you take into account (sometimes) how others have been affected by JW's, or even organized religion in general.

I wish more people were like you. I doubt that you would agree with me, but I don't think you would hold it over my head either as a divisive issue.

I don't begrudge theists. I just wish they could learn that their ideas and theories and beliefs aren't the only game in town.

As for the point of this thread, it has long been noted how the OT god in particular seems a bit petulant, and less majestic, to the little group of desert wanderers he claimed as his own.

Truth is humans have evolved beyond the concept of god. Like BTS said god does not need those things they are human needs.

The idea reminds me of tracking cookies we pik up when we go to different web sites, that tell when we return back to that web site were we've been.
