Has the WTS removed the 'offending' publications? Or just retired them due to time?

I have the 1993 ,1997, 2005, 2007, and recently downloaded 2009 from this site. The 1993 won't download(I have Window's XP) ,but the 1997 did download. The"97" does have the Babylon and James Commentary books. Also I found it had the "You Will be Done"book(1958).

    >>Is "Comentary on the Book of James" on any of those CD's?

Yes, it is still in the latest edition.

"Disk space" has nothing to do with it. One of the biggest "red flags" for me was discovering around 2004 that the info on the Library CD only took up about 300 MB or so. Your standard CD has around 600-700 megs available.

Besides, if they wanted us to get ahold of their older material, they could always put everything on a DVD. Plenty of space for all of the text of all their publications, with room to spare for pretty pictures.

Considering that National Geographic put its entire 120 years (1888-2008) on 6 DVDs..and that is digitized copies of each page including ads....an important history...and I am sure that over the years that magazine has had embarrasing errors.....yet they do not delete it from the DVD because of it.....

certainly WT could put its entire collection on 1 or maybe 2 CD/DVDs..Publish one for the oldest stuff just one time and keep it available...and then the 2nd one could just be a newer CD that only has the more recent publications. As big as hard drives are, it could be downloaded to a hard drive with plenty of room left. (NG also has all of their stuff on a 160 GB hard drive..with room to spare I bet).

But then that would be making it too easy to do real research on The Truth®.

I bought a CD from Ebay which contained all the WT's from 1879 to 1949 plus other odds & ends. Only cost about £3 or £4.

The indexes still list publications back to 1930 at least but of course they are not on the CD. I have some of the older CDs and the Babylon the Great book (1964) was still accessible. Note that the index is titled "1930-1985."

The Your Will Be Done Book (1958) was on the earlier CDs but access to it was dropped off when it was replaced with more "current" information, the Daniel Prophecy book. So it was with the Babylon the Great book replaced by the Revelation Climax book.

The WTS likes to keep "old light" as inaccessible as possible. By ignoring these older books and the death of jws who have them in their library, people just forget. It is too hard to keep up on the new and read the old.

I have all the WT CD's and they tend to change with each edition. Some books are not listed and when I new edition of a book is issued, the old one is removed.

I asked my (elder) father why they've removed some of the old publications from the CDs. He said "obviously to make room for the new ones". Then I told him the CD is less than half full, and he had nothing to say.

Bttt. Why cover up old material, it's all inspired material from Jehovah, isn't it?...
