ATJ: "I don't see any truth here, do you?"

Perhaps they have problems with prophecy, but they got this right...

So, as the last part of the article brings out CORRECTLY, you'd better respect my ass!

Seems to me that it shortens it to two overlapping generations.

Yet, Mad Sweeney (and Paul), another take would be that it lengthens it--the way is totally open for the overlapping to be stretched and stretched--who says it's only 2 generations that have to overlap? As another poster here commented, there have been overlapping generations of annointed since 33 CE, according to still-current (ahem) WT theology!

What Have JW's EVER Got Right?

"I made an ass of myself"----Rutherfraud re: 1925

Paul from Cleavland said: I don't understand the difference between the 2008 explaination and this new one.

The explanation from 2008 is now "old bullshit light" and if you continue to believe it past April, you'll be disfellowshipped for going against the Slobbering Body members. However, if you believe the 2010 version before April, you'll also be disfellowshipped for "running ahead of the Organization." The 2010 version is now "noo bullshit light" until such a time when they spin the wheel in the boardroom and make it "old bullshit light" and replace it with more "new bullshit light" which will probably just be a reiteration of what is now "old bullshit light".

Marys explanation is spot on as usual.

All they are doing is what many grocery chains do with old meat. Slap some more red dye on it, put a new label on it, and put it out there looking all cute and new so the unsuspecting consumers will eat it up unquestioningly....even if it stinks.

One more detail, the lifespan of a person is not the same as a generation.

One generation length is 25 years.

Their problem is similar to that of running a string of Christmas lights that does not reach where they need it to. They could have picked another starting point (such as the onset of our One World Totalitarian Government) as the beginning of a "generation"--and that would be sometime in the 1970s or 1980s. Or, they can simply attach another generation, like one might attach another set of Christmas lights to the end of the first set so they can reach the end of their living room or window.

There is one whopper of a problem. The Bible does not allow the possibility that Jesus meant for these generations to be strung from end to end. Either they saw the beginning of the end itself, or they didn't--no allowance for seeing a planet where someone that saw the beginning of the end still alive when they were born--even though the Bible itself lies, the washtowel doesn't even allow that way out. Remember, the washtowel proclaims to have the monopoly on abiding by the Bible.

Worse, the witlesses are expected to believe this blatant lie. I still remember their directives (repeated directives) that, if the Filthful and Disgraceful Slavebugger teaches something wrong even if you can prove it wrong from their own Bible, you are still supposed to believe AND TEACH the bad teaching until they themselves correct it. This is not something that I need a long maze of scriptures to prove wrong--all I need is the one scripture at Matthew 24:34 where this "generation" is taken from and a little common sense. You don't string generations end to end--and, when they do end without your version of prophesy being fulfilled, you simply add another generation as if it was another string of Christmas lights.
