If theories can never be proved, as your quotation stated above, then Global Warming could roast us alive as we debate semantics and other technicalities. Just think of any "theory" that could have a great impact on your life. For example the "Germ Theory of Disease". Think of what would happen if this concept were the object of controversy by modern doctors. One gets to the point where he has to see the world clearly and concretely instead of seeing it as an abstraction.
