    ***

The first appearances of the word “Dedicated” in the Hebrew Scriptures are found in Genesis 5:18-24, in the name “Enoch,” which name means “Dedicated.” In the Hebrew text this name is spelled Hhanokh′, and is related to the Hebrew word Hanukah, which means “Dedication.” In John 10:22 the “feast of dedication” that Jesus attended is mentioned. (Rotherham;AuthorizedVersion) To this day the Jews call this festival Hanukah, meaning “Dedication,” as can be seen from Hebrew translations of John 10:22.

    Christmas"?

AS MILLIONS around the world prepare to celebrate Christmas, Jews usually prepare to celebrate a different holiday, the Festival of Hanukkah (Chanukah). What is Hanukkah? Non-Jews often think of it as a sort of "Jewish Christmas," but that is far from accurate.

For example, Christmas supposedly commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ, but the celebration actually centers on such things as Santa Claus and decorated evergreen trees, things that have nothing to do with God, Jesus, or the Bible. Even the day, December 25, is the birthday not of Jesus but of the mythical sun-god Mithra! On the other hand, Hanukkah is the anniversary of a historical event that had major consequences for God’s ancient people.

In fact, it is noteworthy that Hanukkah is mentioned in the Christian Greek Scriptures. We read at John 10:22, 23: "At that time the festival of dedication [Hebrew, chanuk·kah´] took place in Jerusalem. It was wintertime, and Jesus was walking in the temple in the colonnade of Solomon." Clearly, this festival was already being celebrated in Jesus’ day and apparently by Jesus himself.

How can JWs imitate Jesus, when Jesus celebrated holidays?

Putting on my JW mind to answer this question DD, I would say that the geneological records of the priesthood was destroyed in 70CE and as well as the Old Covenant being replaced by the New Covenant, thus being made obsolete. If you replied to me with Rom 14:5 and 6 I am not sure how i would have answered this since the WT teaches Romans applies only to the Jewsih feasts.

It realy doesn't answer does it? It just makes Jesus' example obsolete.
