    Effortless Roast, Potatoes and Vegetables

(I often make this when I come home from a night shift)

Take a roast out of the freezer. (Use roast beef or pork roast.) Put in slow cooker (yes, it is still frozen solid.)
Use a can of mushroom gravy or mushroom soup, and one packet of onion soup mix.
Add some medium sized new potatoes (rinse them off first) and some peeled carrots.
Add about 3/4 cup of water.

Set the slow cooker on low. Go to bed. Wake up at 5 pm for night shift. Dinner is ready.

    Baked beans

Soak 2 cups of dry navy beans in water overnight.

Next morning, rinse the beans, add to slow cooker.
Add a quarter cup of molasses, half a cup of ketchup, a tablespoon of mustard and a chopped onion. Stir all ingredients together.
    Add about 4 cups water.

If desired add some chopped up bacon. Leave it out if you prefer a meatless meal.

Set the slow cooker on low and let cook for several hours. (It may be necessary to stir the ingredients a few times during the cooking process.)

bouquet garni, can get them in teabags, if youre using a slow cooker you can drop them in to infuse then fish the bag out when its done.

gives a herb boost to anything youre cooking.
