Any body have it? The sheet music to the song "Urgent" by Foreigner?

I told my 12 year old granddaughter that I'd give her $100.00 if she would learn to play the solo saxaphone part, on her saxaphone.

We haven't been able to find the sheet music though.

thanks ya'll. I knew I could buy it, I was just hoping someone already had it and would share it...or trade it for something.

Yea, that's it. If someone will mail or email the sheet music to me, I will either mail or email something back in return. You know, like bartering.

In my opinion being a musician for 50 years and playing music for money, you dont play a solo

like urgent from reading sheet music.

Most of the time sheet music is a bare bones guide for hobbiest learning their instrument.

You play a solo like urgent because you have the music in you and it comes out of you when

    you play your instrument.

If she could read the music, sheet music to urgent, she could play the solo with out the music.

But be a good grandma and spend the 10 dolllars, both of you will get a musicical education.

The working musicians that I know and have worked with may or may not be able to read music.

Usually they rely on charts, chord diagrams that structure the song and from the structure and their

knowledge of music, theory they play a solo.

Here is the chart to urgent off the net with the words,

    <!--StartFragment--> F#5
Youre not shy, you get around

    A5
You wanna fly, dont want your feet on the ground

    B5
You stay up, you wont come down

    F#5
You wanna live, you wanna move to the sound

    F#5
    Got fire in your veins

    A5
Burnin hot but you dont feel the pain

    B5
    Your desire is insane

    F#5
You cant stop until you do it again

    F#5
But sometimes I wonder as I look in your eyes

    A5
Maybe youre thinking of some other guy

    B5
But I know, yes I know, how to treat you right

    F#5
Thats why you call me in the middle of the night

    CHORUS

    F#5-F#5-E5-E5-B5-B5-B5-D5-D5-D5
    You say its urgent

So urgent, so oh oh urgent

    Just wait and see

How urgent my love can be

    Its urgent

    F#5
You play tricks on my mind

    A5
Youre everywhere but youre so hard to find

    B5
    Youre not warm or sentimental

    F#5
Youre so extreme, you can be so temperamental

    F#5
But Im not looking for a love that will last

    A5
I know what I need and I need it fast

    B5
Yeah, theres one thing in common that we both share

    F#5
Thats a need for for each other anytime, anywhere

    CHORUS

The mass market scores I've seen do not include the sax solo notes. They've followed the standard "third time through instrumental solo" notation kind of thing.

Check out the saxsolos Website mentioned earlier, that's probably your best bet for a specialty scoring of that passage.

Eventually, your granddaughter will move beyond playing by reading music and start replicating by ear - and then creating music herself. Music notation often doesn't do justice to the heartfelt, freer expression of music flowing through and artist and instrument...notation can only be a rough guide to expressing those feelings.
