i just got appointed....

..... as a board member of the local chapter of PFLAG
(Parents, Family/Friends of Lesbians and Gays)

i have been working with the board since june,
and tonight i was asked if i wanted to become
an official member of the board of directors
and i said hell yes!.... advocacy will be my "arena"

i am pretty excited about it, because it is a chapter in
a very established, very influential national advocacy group.....
they were one of the Group of 3** that were instrumental in
getting the Matthew Shepherd Hate Crimes Law Act signed...
(**PFLAG, NOW and Transgender Civil Rights Project)

any way... i am really excited about the possibilities
and opportunities that lie ahead.... lots of policy being
crafted for equal rights/protection so lots of places to
maybe find a niche.....
