RR: I hope this doesn't sound judgmental, but WHY are you doing that? It sounds so dull!! Unbelievably dull! Almost like being a JW again. Ugh.

We are going to our second son's home for a New Year's Eve party. Knowing me, we will have to leave about 10, because I just am not a night person. I usually turn into a pumpkin by 11. I like to be asleep when all the noise happens, or I don't sleep too well.

I tried to talk the soon to be Mrs. Black into going to Jehovah's Witnesses houses and welcoming them to another year in this old system. She declined, so I guess we will still watch a movie together.

Dull? Not at all. Don't knock it unless you've tried it. Watch Night services are very popular with other denominations, and I enjoy them. I love getting together with my extended spiritual family [actually the ONLY family outside my wife and child] and fellowshipping with them.

I don't drink or smoke, or use drugs, I don't have immediate family in the area, and even when I did, I didn't like associating with them, because other than blood, I have nothing in common with them.

This is what I do, this is what I am, and I love it!!!!

Tonite my b/f and I will be with a few friends on the North Shore (of Sydney) watching the fireworks over the Harbour, with a glass of something bubbly!

I'll be at work.

It's not so bad... we bring goodies in from home and gather in the Nursery just before midnight so we can watch the fireworks on Parliament Hill.

We also have the very serious responsibility of documenting the first births of the New Year

Guess you won't see this tonight as you'll be.......

stuff our faces [this year with carribean style food, since my wife is Haitian and I am Puerto Rican] Roast pork, rice and beans, friend bananas, hmmmmm .... rr

I'm in Daytona and there's a Cuban restaurant called The Columbian (7 of them all over Fla) - and that's the dinner I had 2 days ago! Great! Love the black beans and rice - I've had that 3 times this week - well worth repeat!

To join in fellowship with friends, eat terrific homeland food, and just jaw endlessly with good friends and family.....it doesn't get much better than that!
