So if the org is a greedy corporation, which is interested in money, why preach in the prisons? What is the point in that?

1) They're interested in power & control more than money, tho' money is a close second
2) Keeps publishers & pioneers engaged in busy work
3) The publisher / pioneer must procure books for the studies - more sales

People get out of prison.....
If they claim the WTS is the strongest motivator for their keeping clean and lawful it is a great testimony for the WTS.
Those in for life who are converted may convert their non-imprisoned relatives.

To think that a bunch of evil men crouched in a dark room with dark, evil voices decide to "preach in prisons" to get more "money" is positively ludicrous. I know it's nice to imagine the idea, but believe me, it isn't that cut and dry.
Some people take this high-control group very seriously. They believe they are serving god. They want to preach the good news. And to the prisons they go!
And isn't it a fine witness. "Oh, john used to rob old ladies... now he's a jw". In other words, now john is a complete dink idiot.

There are some in prison that are improperly convicted, and not all in prison are pedophiles.

Well, they don't know they are a cult, do they?
They believe they are God's people. They mislead others down that same pathway, no matter where they can find them. Prisons are good places to find people eager to talk to anyone who will talk with them. Furtile ground.
